Consultation open for the Review of the Veterans' Support Act

Professor Ron Paterson was appointed in June to lead an independent review of the operation of the Veterans’ Support Act 2014. The purpose of the review is to look at whether the Act is operating as intended and meets its purpose. Professor Paterson will report to the Chief of Defence Force on his findings by the end of the year.

On the 25th July, Professor Paterson released a discussion document “How well is the Veterans’ Support Act 2014 working? A chance to have your say”.

The document aims to get people thinking and talking about how well the Act is working in practice. Professor Paterson wants to hear from anyone who has an interest in the review. This includes currently serving Defence Force personnel, and veterans and their families. The discussion document is available in both hard copy and on the Review's webpage (external link) .

You have until 15 September 2017 to make a submission, and will also be able to attend consultation meetings that Professor Paterson will be hosting around the country throughout August and September. Details of the meetings are also outlined on the Review's webpage (external link) .

Remember to have your say.
