Chief of Defence Force requests Baghak footage
A message from the Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General Tim Keating:
An Official Information request has been made to the NZDF for any imagery (video) from the engagement in Baghak, Afghanistan on 4 August 2012, sometimes referred to as the Battle of Baghak. Under the Official Information Act 1982, recordings made by personnel while in service may be official information.
Although many of the soldiers involved in this incident have since left the Army this notice will hopefully be read by them. If you are one of those ex-soldiers or still serving and if you recorded any footage of the incident on your mobile phone, GoPro or similar device please answer the following questions by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
- Do you still have a copy of the footage you recorded?
- If yes, please provide a preferred form of contact (email, phone number, postal address)
- If not, please explain why you no longer have the footage.
Your assistance with this matter is appreciated and my staff will be in touch with those who have retained copies of the footage concerned. If you have any questions regarding this request please email the Ministerial Services team as above for the attention of Mr Dominic Young, Office of the Chief of Defence Force.
